Burgundy has a quiet but lasting presence. It does not shout like a bright red, yet it stays in the room long after you have noticed it. This printed table runner burgundy and green plays on exactly that quality: a deep, settled ground crossed by the vivid green of stems and leaves.
The poppy motif is carefully drawn, rounded blooms repeating along the fabric. Each piece is hand block-printed with wooden blocks, in the artisan workshops of our partners in India, where block printing passes from one generation to the next. The slight irregularity of the gesture gives the fabric a life that mechanical printing never has: no two flowers are quite alike. The design is created in France.
Laid on bare wood, this runner brings depth and warmth to the timber. Over a white or natural tablecloth, it adds a rich band down the centre that carries candlesticks and fuller tableware beautifully. Care
General care instructions for artisan-printed cotton table linen:
- Machine wash at 30°C or 40°C maximum, on a gentle cycle, to help preserve the colours.
- Do not use bleach or whitening products.
- Avoid fabric softener, as it may dull the colours over time.
- Iron on the reverse side of the fabric at a moderate temperature (cotton/wool setting) to preserve the vibrancy of the print.
- Air dry preferably in the shade; avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may cause the colours to fade.
