The blackberry is a hedgerow fruit, wild and quiet, that stains the fingers so pleasantly at the end of summer. This cotton placemat beige and red makes it the subject: deep red blackberries set on a natural beige ground, in a soft, warm composition that smells of the country lane.
Each piece is hand block-printed on good-quality cotton, in the artisan workshops of our partners in India, where block printing is a craft handed down through generations. Every impression carries the small variations of the gesture, the mark of a genuinely handmade textile rather than an industrial print. The design is created in France, in the natural, warm spirit dear to the house.
A placemat dresses without covering. Laid on bare wood, it echoes the tones of the timber and gives each guest a place of their own. Over a white or natural tablecloth, it brings depth and a seasonal note to the setting.

The cotton is hard-wearing and machine washable, it grows softer with time while keeping its colour, and it takes jam-making days and long family meals in its stride. Washed at thirty degrees and ironed while still slightly damp, it keeps its shape and its warmth.

Care
General care instructions for artisan-printed cotton table linen:
- Machine wash at 30°C or 40°C maximum, on a gentle cycle, to help preserve the colours.
- Do not use bleach or whitening products.
- Avoid fabric softener, as it may dull the colours over time.
- Iron on the reverse side of the fabric at a moderate temperature (cotton/wool setting) to preserve the vibrancy of the print.
- Air dry preferably in the shade; avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, which may cause the colours to fade.
