Description
The olive tree is the tree of the South above all others, timeless and calm, planted to last for generations. This cotton table runner green and yellow keeps its spirit: olive branches drawn with restraint, in a tender green lifted with golden yellow, like late-afternoon light caught on the leaves.
Each piece is hand block-printed on good-quality cotton, in the artisan workshops of our partners in India, where block printing is a craft handed down through generations. Every impression carries the small variations of the gesture, the mark of a genuinely handmade textile rather than an industrial print. The design is created in France, in the natural, Mediterranean spirit dear to the house.
Laid down the length of a bare wooden table, this runner warms the timber while leaving its grain visible at either side. Over a white or natural tablecloth, it adds a band of colour and gives the setting a clear axis. Outdoors, on a garden table in the shade, it comes into its own.
This cotton table runner green and yellow is made for real use. The cotton is hard-wearing and machine washable, it grows softer with time while keeping its colour, and it takes long summer lunches and shared dishes without fuss. Washed at thirty degrees and ironed while still slightly damp, it keeps its shape and its quiet glow.
It works especially well with stoneware, olive wood, linen and natural tones, and needs very little around it. You can pair it with the matching Olive Tree napkins and tablecloth to compose the whole table around one motif.
Left plain on a wooden table, it needs nothing more than a few glasses and a branch of olive.
An artisanal, peaceful and hard-wearing piece of table linen, for anyone who likes tables that speak of new olive oil and lunches under the trees.
